Mandazi (East African Coconut Doughnuts) Recipe


Prepare dinner dinner Mode
(Maintain show awake)

  • 1/4 cup warmth water

  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon dried yeast

  • 50g pure creamed coconut (see phrase)

  • 1/4 cup water

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 1/3 teaspoon coarsely flooring inexperienced cardamom seeds

  • Sunflower oilfor frying

  1. Place the great and comfy water in a bowl and sprinkle with the sugar and yeast and let it develop for 10 minutes.

  2. Dissolve the coconut cream inside the water.

  3. Combine the flour, sugar, cardamom and yeast mixture.

  4. Stir the coconut cream into the mixture progressively after which knead it to make pliable dough.

  5. Let the dough rest, coated, in a single day.

  6. Divide the dough into 3 equal elements and roll each proper right into a 6-inch circle about 1/4 inch thick.

  7. Reduce each circle into quarters.

  8. Let the dough rest on a floured flooring or on a tray until it rises, about 1 hour or until double in measurement.

  9. Deep-fry the gadgets inside the sunflower oil on medium heat, about 375°F, until golden brown.

  10. Take away the doughnuts with a slotted spoon to a prepared paper towel-lined baking tray.

Notes
